April

So Once again I'm so far behind on this blog, I don't know where to start. So here I am just getting highlights of our past few months out en masse !! April arrived with some big events with our home school group. The Heritage Fair week arrived before we knew it and the girls and I spent every day getting their projects ready . They worked so hard on them.

Elle looking over her finished project on the People of the Canadian Artic.
Em and Ryan researching for her project on Beekeeping in Canada (early in the morning!)
Day of the local Heritage Fair and Elle is all set up and awaiting the judging.
                           Emily is all set!!(and nervous!)
All of her beekeeping tools were  compliments of Grampie Cameron
Some of the group at the awards program singing The national anthem .
First place goes to Emily in her age group!!
First place to Elle too!! The girls did awesome and we were so proud of them!!

We also went on a museum trip with our Home school friends and had a very fun day in St John.

The girls were especially thrilled with thees huge exhibits.

Crystal Palace 2014

After the kids had twirled, whirled and spun themselves silly and their parents slightly greenish, we relocated to the MacDonalds across the street...the one with the huge play room...big enough for 17 kids, their harried parents in desperate  in need of coffee, and their calm, happy grandparents to all sit down for a spell and catch up with each other. Oh and eat ice cream!! The helpful employees taking orders did indeed raise their eyebrows at the order of over 25 ice creams at 9:30 in the morning! But the birthday girl had spoken and ice cream it was for all her party goers.
Big almost 7 year old!!!
Time to eat.

Coffee ,ice cream...and one happy Grampa!!

Uncle T.j. and cousin Ryson

Happy Momma and 3 hungry sisters

3 lovely Sante ladies
It was a whirlwind of a morning  that started at 4:45 am and wrapped up at 10 !! We had pretty sleepy girls for the hour long ride home but hey, it only happens once a year and what's not to love about a  happy, spirited girl celebrating her birthday in fine style ,surrounded buy lights, music, twirling rides, but most of all, family.....oh and ice cream!

Bunnies in the Snow

The Girls had so much fun when our friend Ashley came to visit.

                                     Bunny love!

Betsy is by far the gentlest soul in our family. She gets passed from one set of childish arms to the next, without any protest, and dutifully nibbles carrots on demand whenever a little one deems her hungry enough for another snack.  We hope Esther will become a mother this spring as Emily has chosen a friend's male rabbit to be the lucky "husband for a day". Betsy is far too old for such goings on, but will be loved just as much simply because she"bears all things" so contentedly , and is always up for a little pretend mother to play house with her and to sit in the baby carriage munching on carrots as if she was made for nothing else but making little girls squeal with happiness.

Birthday Girl

I had the best of Birthday's this year. For the first time in 17 years(wow!! ) I woke up on my Birthday morning and had breakfast with my Mom and Dad!! Ryan and the girls had  my  favorite breakfast cooked complete with a Tim Horton's cappuccino! The girls one by one gave me their presents , and did I ever feel spoiled!!

                             Gifts from all my family
Grammie reading funny stories to the girls.

A violin bow from my hubby!!

Lunch time came with another fabulous meal. K.F.C.! Mom presented Ryan with a gift all his own. He had a terrible cold and was feeling rather stuffed up, so she sought to lift his spirits with a comical book.
Then came my delicious cake. Mommy made it for me and Oh it was good!

After our dinner ,meal, We all watched the Olympic hockey game . Everyone  was in on the excitement!

Everyone except for Elin and Eva that is...they were obsessed with another gift from Grammie...one about the Roman gladiator era....a rather shocking  children's educational book I might add!! Oh but they were intrigued!
A lovely day spent with loved ones, it was the perfect way to spend a birthday .If one must get older and pass the milestone every year, what better way to celebrate then with family, food and fun!!!

Winter Time!!

Well...gulp... as my last post was" Summer Time" this one should sadly be "Winter Time" Don't ask where "Fall Time" And "Christmas Time" went, or the numerous day, and weeks in between are. Suffice it to say, we are all healthy, busy and happy. Our goats are happy in their little barn, growing chubby..alas not with babies this year...sniff,sniff, but with a very comfy layer of warming insulation !! Our girls are happy in and out of the house, and we are awaiting spring with a growing excitement!! We have lovingly planted Marigolds, Parsley, Pansies and a few other fun flowers in our big sunny window, and just today found a teeny sprout that has pushed its way out of the soil. Spring has come to our family room as of today, and we are excited to welcome it outside in the next months as well!!
We have spent our winter visiting our friends at their farm, seeing baby lambs, and sitting on horses...
       Snuggling with great big dogs...
Setting the family table with Valentines finery , awaiting excited girls to wake up to the bounty of love.
                    Out most animated Valentine Elle
         Our sweet ,eldest Valentine Emily
                 A yummy Valentines breakfast .
A big sister's lovingly crafted Valentine's gift for all of her little sisters.
                    Our darling ,bespectacled Valentine Eva
and the craziest, loudest but thoroughly adored Valentine Elin.
Another hint that spring is just around the corner here at our little place!! Ryan and his dad tapping our Maple trees. I can almost taste that syrup now!!!!

Summertime fun!!

We found this pretty little frog sitting on our beans one day. We were all so fascinated!! we picked him up and the girls had fun showing him to the neighbors, and then we put him back. We didn't see him again, but hope to next summer!!

We had some icecream fun happen at our place. Our girls haven't made ice cream before...sad as that is! So when our friend Ashley Brewer came and brought an ice cream maker for a party, well, we had ourselves a time!! There were so many noses stuck over that ice cream dish poor Ashley hardly had room to work, but she was a trooper, and the kids had so much fun. We even had cousins over to get in on the party!!

Sky, Eva, Elle, and Elin watching that ice cream freeze.
I'm not sure if "Watch pot never boils" applies to this ,but it took a very long time to thicken!

I think all the warm little puffs of air from many little crowding bodies maybe made for some not so perfect freezing conditions, as it was still quite runny when finished, but oh my, was it ever yummy!
The happiness was very evident!!! I think it was a success!!
We had our friend Ashley Black stay with us for a few days, and Emmy love having a "big sister" around to do things with!!

Jake loved having another human to snuggle with!!
Here the girls had been to our Summer Ministry Team's park ministry, and got more than their faces painted!!
