Fall Days

This is our littlest one. She has been such a joyous blessing to our family! Her teeny eyes and big grin are her trademarks!!

One evening after baths , Ryan asked the girls what they wanted to do that evening before bedtime....they wanted a tea party with him!! So we got out the tea set, and commenced to have tea.
The sugar bowl had to be filled more than the tea pot..it seemed to be a favorite!

I stood Elin up to the table, and the little turkey true to herself started grabbing everything in sight!!
Sampling the treats...we had a fine mess on our hands afterwards.
The perfect evening ended with a new instalment of the Saga of Sophia. Sophia is a princess created by Ryan's fertile mind,  and her many adventures bring the girls much excitement as they listen with rapt attention to see what will happen to their favorite princess next.

                                                      Happy Family!
The girls love their little sister and mother her whenever they can. These pictures were taken after we had gotten home one evening. Elin had fallen asleep in the van ,and after I brought her in ,her sisters took it as their responsibility to take her shoes off.

SO cute! She slept through the whole ordeal..which was just that. The pulling and tugging was quite something to watch..but off they came, and away she slept!
Elin is so proud of herself being able to stand holding on to things. She just grins, and laughs.
                                                    ....and drools!!

The Big Rescue!!

Well one day not too long ago, the girls and I were out giving supper to a lady in our church, when we drove in our road, and I had to brake very quickly to avoid running over a teeny kitten that ran out in front of us. I pulled into our driveway, got out of the van and this kitten was barrelling over the road, into our lawn, and straight toward me meowing as loudly as she could. I scooped her up with the girls all around me, and saw that this poor kitten was a mess. She was  soaking wet, crawling with fleas, one of her eyes was closed with infection, she had gashes all over her, and her mouth needed stitches to close her chin. As soon as she was in my arms, she started purring through her shivering, and I don't believe she stopped all weekend.. We called the neighbours,to see if she belonged to anyone around. It seemed she had been abandoned,as I guess this has happened in the past on our little dirt side road. It was a Friday night, and nothing would be open all weekend, so after talking it over with Ryan, we decided I would head to town to get some first aid things for "Happy" as we named this little poor cat.And we would do our best to help her till the s.p.c.a opened on Monday.

SO armed with dish soap, polysporin eye drops, and tweezers, we went to work,
First she had a much needed bath!!
Checking to see how many fleas we had to dispose of!
                                                 Getting the tweezers ready!

Here we go! The cat purred steadily throughout the whole event..even the bath!!
                                                                      ugly thing!!
                                                        In LOVE!!

This is the "Mommy can't we keep her"  look   that we saw 1000 times that weekend!                                   Elle feeding Happy tuna on her lap!!

She sure filled that belly up!

                                               a make-shift kitty litter!
                                                      Emmy getting her finally!!

needless to say bedtime was put off for a very long time that night!!

                                                                   Happy  warm,full,clean,kitty!!
This was soo cute, Even Ryan caught the kitty fever!! It fell asleep in his hands with its paw curled around his thumb..
We loved Happy all weekend, and on Monday through many little girl tears, we said good-bye, and Ryan brought her to the Moncton s.p.c.a., where she would be able to get her much needed stitches and a new home!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Well, we started with the pumpkin carving~ The girls got to choose whichever designs they wanted and poor Daddy had to turn their dreams into a reality!!
                                                      Our 4 pumpkins!!
                                                        Hard at work!
Everyone had a job, Eva relished every moment of digging the seeds out.

Emmy didn't exactly enjoy it, but worked at it anyway

I think we need to invest in proper pumpkin carving tools!! It's really hard to do a finesse job with a hunting knife! He did great though and the girls loved them. The funny thing is we never got pictures of the finished products...oh well!!
This picture is worth a thousand words. We made up these cute pumpkins with eyes, and Eva completely fell head over heels in love with "pumpkin". When the others went outside,as raw pumpkins don't fare very well in warm houses, I found hers days later safely sitting on the shelf in her closet. Then it was moved to her bed, and every night she would set it up by her pillow and snuggle in with it while she fell asleep. It was getting pretty black around the edges so I had to smuggle it out to the goat pen this morning. She hasn't said anything yet, so I'm hoping I won't have to explain where it went.!!
Here we are on the big day getting ourselves set for the Amherst mall Trick or treat event. We had a duck , rooster, and Larry Boy this year. They were so excited to get going!
                                                               My sleepy rooster!

And the candy began to flow into the buckets

My cute 2 year old duck!!

Poor Emmy..the event is advertised for the preschoolers, so I didn't let Em dress up for it, thinking she was too old to participate . Well She was so cute..very disappointed ,but trying to be a big girl about it.We had it all figured out that we would bring a bucket for Elin, and Em could eat the treats. . So we stepped into the mall and the first thing that happens is a man comes up with a cart loaded with big halloween bags, and gives one to each of the girls..She looked at me asking with her eyes if it was o.k. to take it . I whispered "it's o.k. Em." and she gave me the hugest grin!!
We were given coupons at the mall for free kids meals at Pizza Delight,so Ryan took us out for lunch after the mall!!

Heading out for the big evening!!
Finally our princess could wear her costume!! She even got to wear Mommy's blush and lipstick!!
                                                             This turkey makes us laugh!
Even Larry Boy himself would be jealous of that pose!!
Eva decided to pack her Bible. We didn't realize she had it with her till we left the yard!
Trying to hop and pose like her big sister!
The duck could not stay out of the puddles!

Looking through all of the loot!! And sampling of course!!

Elin found a lollipop that Eva had discarded, and did she ever relish her first candy!! The drool was everywhere!!
