Some of you have known about our Christmas gift for the girls this year. We had to put down our beloved Newfoundland Dog "Lucy" at the end of this summer, and have been missing having a dog around. So Ryan found "Frug" (French bulldog/Pug cross)puppies a while back for sale, and decided to get us one for Christmas...Well, Ryan and I were so excited to go get this little girl. He went and picked her out a month ago, and I went and met her a week ago, so we were just counting down the days until she grew big enough to take her home. We got the e-mail on Friday morning, that we could get her any time after that afternoon. Do you think we could wait very long? Nope! We made plans for the next morning to pack up the girls and take the 1 1/2 hour trip to get "Phronsie" (Fronzie) as we had named her.
We had set the day up as an "Adventure, treasure hunt "day to the girls the night before, and were they ever excited!! WE told them we were going out for breakfast(which happens maybe twice a year in our family), and then on to a treasure hunt.
They were up bright and early, and our home was buzzing with excitement. We got into the van and off we went....here is a pictorial of the days events!!!
Here we are at McDonalds...I can't say we were enjoying our breakfast....lets just say the hashbrowns and juice were great! But Elle's face says what we thought of the rest of the food!!Did I mention it was early?
Done breakfast and starting the treasure hunt...Emmy has her list, and she was determined not to miss a thing!!
Here we are at our final destination, and there are the expressions!!
Back in the van, and snuggled with Emmy, who was smitten !
Emily wasn't the only one smitten with puppy love!
Phronsie slept the whole trip home......
but was completely rested and ready to tumble upon arriving at the house!!
Emmy gave her a new toy....
Which she loved
While Elin fell head over heels(literally!!) for Phronsie's snazzy new bed.
We have never seen our baby doing some of the flips and flops she was pulling off in that cushy bed.
Unfortunately for Elin,Phronsie loved her new bed as well
I was tempted to get a second one for Elin!!
This was toward the end of our day, We had finally gotten Elin off to other distractions, so the poor puppy could have a much needed nap, and I walked into the kitchen to find Emily sitting in the bed with Phronsie.
Poor Ryan has yet another girl under his roof......looks like he hates it eh?
Finally some peace and quiet.
This lasted off and on till bedtime, everyone just sitting watching the darling little thing happily sleep.
Emmy thought she must be lonely for her litter mates, so gave her her special"snuggle puppy" she has loved for years...Well that puppy promptly buried herself in it to the delight of Em.
Eva saying goodnight. these pictures are all so cute I had to include all of them..
Just chatting to her.
Elle's turn
This is what I found upon getting the little ones all settled in bed.. my big girl Emily all curled on the kitchen floor, watching the puppy sleep....and a lonely black and white kitty jealously pacing back and forth, begging for attention. Emily's cat" Sierra" is never far from Em's side, they are together all day long, and Emily is the proudest owner I've ever seen....but today, today Sierra took a back seat to a 7 week old Frug named Phronsie...and she wasn't very happy about it.
So Merry Christmas to us, and as you can see,we are a very happy bunch. Lets see how much sleep we get in the next week or two, and how our budget is faring after all the paper towel is used to mop up the messes!, But for tonight all the girls went to sleep with a smile on their face..and a very happy puppy is snoozing away in her bed knowing she is loved by her new family.
