Our last weekday of ministry began with devotions and prayer around/under our favorite tree. We had gathered here every day of our trip and the last time was bittersweet. We shared the things God had done in our hearts, and the lessons he had taught us throughout our time in Jamaica. We went to our last school that morning and the pastor's daughter from the church we were ministering at attended that particular one. Her mom hadn't told her that we were going to be there, wanting it to be a surprise, so when she saw us as she was arriving she started to run and ran right to Maeghan for a big hug. It was so sweet.Such beautiful children. Our prayer is that as we shared the gospel with them, they would continue to think on it long after we were gone and Christ would transform their lives as he has ours. I loved the dress code posted by the front door. Particularly the hair curler part!! After we ate lunch we were off to the children's home for one last visit.
The kids loved racing relays with the team, and we gave them all glow sticks to play with too.Becca doing an object lesson with a helper!!I didn't get too many pictures of this as I was in the water most of the time! It was a perfect day for swimming and getting some sun. We had fun just being tourists. The next day was a busy one as it was Sunday and then we were off back to Canada the next.
We went to a place called Rick's Cafe close to sunset where there are cliffs and many people jump off them into the water. This guy was quite the daredevil and put on quite a show when he dove!
People just sat around watched the diving and waited for the sun to set.
It was a perfect evening and the sunset was beautiful over the water.
I got my hair braided by Cres. I wanted to wait so I could have it last as long as possible when I got home.
This is Ryan teaching a lesson at the church earlier in the week that I forgot to include.
Our last day ...It poured so bad that not very many people arrived for service. Most of them travel by foot so when it torrential rains the turnout is small...kinda like a snowy Sunday in Canada!
Pastor Duane, his wife Arlene and their daughter Nadiessia
Before the evening service that night all us girls with braids lined up to show them off!
There was a great turnout for service that night and it went super long. We stayed to chat even longer with all our new friends. Maeghan got tambourine lessons from Deandra . One of our Bible School friends
Our talented men did a special.
The pastor and his wife gave us a gift on behalf of the church. A beautiful clock in the shape of Jamaica.
